o       2nd STOP - Friday, May 14th, Arrive in El Paso at 6:00 pm at the Holiday Inn Airport Hotel for Press Conference and Rally. Have dinner and spend the night there.

o       3rd STOP - Friday, May 14, leave hotel at 7:30 am and arrive Kleim Park, located  155 N. Mesquite Street, Las Cruces, NM 88001 (Corner of Mesquite and Griggs) there we will rally and have breakfast. Local leaders and Bishop to join us.

o       Saturday, May 15: 

1)      10:00 am Protest at the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Arpaio’s office is located in    central downtown Phoenix (Intersection of Central Ave and Washington Ave ) on the sidewalk on the south side of the Wells Fargo Bank Building .

2)      1:00 pm the group will picket the Arizona State Capital Building located on 15th Avenue and Washington Ave in central Phoenix and announce a boycott against the Tostitos.

3)      2:30 pm - Picket at Arizona Governor’s home.

4)      Finally at 7:30 pm a candle light vigil will be held at the Arizona State Capital.

Bus trip will be direct; we will have 2 drivers.

March for Immigration Reform Now! 

 

 Dallas, Texas - The Mega March 2010 Coalition will hold a press conference on Thursday, April 8th at 12pm in the City Hall Flag Room on the 6th floor. The Mega March 2010 Coalition will announce a series of actions, including a major March through downtown Dallas.     The March will start at the Santuario de Guadalupe to Dallas City Hall on Saturday, May 1st. 2010.

 

In 2006, half a million people gathered in the streets of Dallas to support immigration reform; but regardless of the community’s efforts, immigration reform was not passed.  With President Obama’s support for a workable solution for immigration reform, we need to ensure that the White House and the US Congress is proactively pursing the issue.

 

“We urge Texas Congress members to support the leadership and efforts of Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY), Congressman Luis Gutierrez, and Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) as they introduce a comprehensive, sensible and feasible immigration bill,” said Domingo Garcia, one of the key leaders and organizers of the march. “Our immigrant community is in dire need of immigration reform. We need to enable them to be full contributors to our economy. America must live up to its religious and moral values.”


The five things you need to bring:

 1) Wear a white shirt/t-shirt,

 2) Bring an American Flag if you have one,

 3) Bring bottled water for yourself and an umbrella if it rains.

 4) Bring a trash bag. (In 2006 we cleaned up after the first Mega March with over 500,000 people and we earned kudos from city officials.) Fold the bag, stuff it in your back pocket and take it out when you see trash on the route.

 5) Come to the Mega Marcha 2010 via DART to avoid the traffic. We may have up to 100,000 people.
